How many people will be in the class?

There will be a marked ‘spot’ on the floor for you to place your mat – keeping everyone at least 2 metres apart.

  • Lealands High School: Max 15 people
  • St Margaret’s Parish Centre: Max 14 people

How often will the studio / hall be cleaned?

The studio / hall will be cleaned daily before community bookings. In between my classes I will be cleaning door handles, hand rails etc.

Do I need to wear a face mask?

Please wear a face mask when arriving to your class, when leaving and if you pop to the toilet. Once you are on your exercise mat, you can remove your face mask for exercising (unless you would prefer to keep it on).

Will the toilets be open? Will there be any changing facilities?

The toilets will be open but try to go at home before coming out to the class as other community groups will also be using them. There will be no changing facilities so please come to the class ready.

  • Lealands: Disabled toilets open by main entrance
  • St Margaret’s: Main toilets but only 1 person in the room at a time

Why are the classes now 45 minutes?

This is to allow enough time for one class to leave and the next to arrive without crossing paths. I’ll also need time to clean touch points between classes (door handles, rails, etc). Initially classes will be 45 minutes but I will review this once we are back into the swing of things and if possible increase back to 55 minutes.

Will we be using equipment (hedgehog, balls, bands)?

Initially we won’t be using any shared equipment. You will need to bring your own exercise mat and head block / towel with you.

What can I do to help?

  • Please only arrive a few minutes early to your class or wait in your car.
  • Wear your face mask and be aware of social distancing when arriving and leaving.
  • Bring your exercise mat and head block / towel.
  • Use the hand sanitiser provided when you arrive, leave and if you pop to the toilet.
  • Download the NHS Covid-19 App on your phone and scan the QR code to check-in to your class.
  • Choose a marked ‘spot’ to place your mat.
  • Keep personal items to a minimum (keys, water bottle, etc.).
  • Wear an extra layer if you feel the cold. The doors and windows will be kept open.
  • Do not attend the class if you or anyone in your household has COVID-19 symptoms.

Can I still swap classes when I cannot attend?

I would rather you kept to the same class each week but if you need to swap to a different class to ‘catch up’ then please email me (instead of using TeamUp). Initially availability for alternative sessions may be very limited.

What do I need to do if I feel unwell with COVID-19 symptoms or someone in my household?

If you develop any COVID-19 symptoms (high temperature, a new continuous cough, a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste) then you must stay at home and get an NHS test straight away. If you test positive you will need to self-isolate for 10 days. If someone in your household tests positive then you will need to self-isolate for 14 days.

If you test positive for COVID-19 please let me know as soon as possible.

What happens if I am unable to attend a class because I am self-isolating?

For the first time you need to self-isolate for 14 days I will freeze your sessions during this period. This only applies to self-isolation if you or someone in your household is unwell with COVID-19. This does not include quarantine after travelling abroad. If you are required to self isolate again in the future, your membership will continue to run as normal.

Please let me know ahead of the class(es)

What happens if someone in my class is unwell?

If someone in your class informs me that they have tested positive for COVID-19  then I will email the rest of the class to make aware but no names will be given. If they have a positive COVID-19 test they will be unable to attend the class for 14 days. The NHS Test and Trace Service may need to speak to people they have had recent close contact with. In which case I will need to give names and contact details of all people from the class to the contact tracing team.

What happens in the event of another lockdown?

If there is another lockdown or a venue needs to close temporarily, I will freeze people’s sessions until classes can resume again.

What happens if Kirsty is unable to teach classes?

If I am unable to teach a class for any reason, memberships will be frozen for any affected classes.

Can I have further information?

The advice here sits alongside my existing terms and conditions which haven’t been updated to reflect COVID-19. Members are able to view these terms and conditions via TeamUp.
